About Sheffield
Sheffield, located in the northwestern portion of Caledonia County in Vermont 's Northeast Kingdom (NEK), was chartered on October 25, 1793 and has an area of 32.62 square miles at a mean elevation of 907 feet above sea level (ASL). The town has rich scenery of neighboring hills, forests and streams and is home to several maple sugaring operations, saw mills, and small farms
Sheffield is governed by a three member Board of Selectmen. Select Board meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00 P.M. at the Town Clerk's office unles otherwise noted. Selectboard members are elected for a three year term at Town Meeting.
Miller’s Run School ( 3249 VT Route 122, Sheffield , VT 05866 ) is administered by the Kingdom East School District.

Each Labor Day Sheffield holds its annual Field Day, with a parade and various activities, contests and events, to benefit the Sheffield-Wheelock Fire Department, Food Pantry, camp scholarships and other worthwhile causes.
Mathewson State Forest is a 795 acre forest located in Sheffield and the adjoining towns of Wheelock and Sutton. Mathewson State Forest offers opportunities for primitive camping, hiking and cold water fishing.
